The presentation of the curriculum is based on the students’ natural developmental stages and sensitive periods of learning. Although the curriculum is divided into three different age groupings, in reality, it overlaps into the different classes to meet the individual needs of all students. The curriculum revolves, as in a spiral, each level returning to more in-depth, detailed exploration of major curriculum areas already presented at a lower level.

Each of our three spacious multi-age classrooms are led by two highly qualified, nurturing teachers, who provide an inviting space for children to imagine, discover, and grow at their own pace. The prepared environment of a Montessori classroom encourages self-discovery and fosters independent learning at all levels.
First, second, and third grade students have their imaginations sparked through plenty of variation in materials as they move toward a more abstract level of learning.
Fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students are ready for a still more advanced level of research and responsibility. Throughout these stages and sensitive periods, we encourage self-direction, decision-making, problem solving, and community involvement.
The outdoors also play an important role in the Oak Grove learning experience. The countryside campus features a vernal pond, maple and oak forest, primitive trails, outdoor gathering spaces, separate playscapes for both Primary and Elementary students, a purpose-built greenhouse, raised-bed gardens, The Yolk Grove hen house with free ranging chicken yard, a soon-to-be completed performing arts center – The Henry Collaboratory, and a very special fenced-in meditation garden – the Seth Brody Memorial Orchard.
